Legacy of the Living is Book Two of the new Blood, Brains, and Bullets series by Sean Liebling.
In Book One, Jay pulled the town of Newaygo together, helped a National Guard unit, executed a rogue preacher bent on pulling the newly-formed community apart, and was named interim governor for the State of Michigan. Along the way he accumulated three girlfriends while making sure his young children survived.
Book Two continues on, beginning with the aftermath of a devastating zombie attack. As the town mourns the loss of many of their near and dear ones, Jay and his military personnel are faced with the chilling discovery that the zombies have evolved—have become even more clever and cunning. And they seem to be focusing their attacks on the children of the survivors!
Jay knows that in order to survive the influx of the multitudes of undead hordes, as well as the anticipated attacks by the Shadow Government, he must be ready. He does not intend to lose any more of his people. Under his direction, Newaygo’s ever-expanding group of survivors dig in and begin rebuilding. Their numbers have increased to the point that nearby Fremont is cleared and designated a new home for incoming survivors. Master Sergeant Darin Trask begins intense weapons training of Jay’s people, including Jay’s girls.
Jay doesn’t plan on merely surviving–he will take this battle to them! His intentions become a reality when he is joined by Major Robinson and elements of the 9th Special Forces Group and those of the 162nd SOAR.
The Shadow Government continues with their machinations in support of their New World Order Eugenics plan. Dr. Lynch, under the direction of a handful of world leaders, will sacrifice anything and everyone in his way in order to achieve their goal. Realizing that something is very wrong at the CDC, Dr. Samuel Thomas escapes with vital information. Can he make it through the devastated, war-torn countryside and find someone who can use this knowledge—to save the United States of America—and the world?
Meanwhile, the Reaper and his new apprentice, Travis, embark on a mission to reduce the ranks of the dead. They are assisted in their efforts by a lesbian biker gang, led by Chief Biker Alethea. I loved the first book in this series, and the sequel is even better! Not your typical zombie apocalypse books. Sean's books contain an element of hope, letting you believe mankind can actually survive! And he throws in the societal ills we currently have in today's world! There is graphic sex, so if this is not your thing, skip ahead to the end of that scene. Stay with the story though, because it's intense! The author continues to improve upon his world and the cast of characters contained within it.The first class editing should remove the complaints the grammar nazi's had with the prior book. I can't recommend this book enough, and cannot wait or the third book to arrive!Product details

Wow! Such a simple and short word but I'm just speechless! I will be IMMEDIATELY 're-reading it. This is the 2nd book EVER that I've read and I go through up to 15 books a month in winter and have been for over 25 years that has had special needs characters namely Down Syndrome characters. And, they are written in a true and correct light as people who can also contribute even in a SHTF scenario! Thank you Sean Liebling for writing these characters into your book. Most author's writing about them it's just a character using the word "tard" which has me IMMEDIATELY putting the book down and never buying another one by those authors. You on the other hand have gone above and beyond to tell everyone loud and proud that people with mental and physical handicaps are capable, helpful and useful individuals who can do most everything we can just at their own pace. And truthfully, in a SHTF scenario of any there will be many survivors with various types of disabilities and it was YOU who to my knowledge is the first author to know this and not just make mention of it but write in several main and supporting very important and likeable characters. You also did the same with DISABLED VETERANS too. Thank you! I've now purchased 7 books for friends and family for those reasons alone because I'm a proud adoptive momma of two amazing kids who are blessed with Down Syndrome. Now about the rest of the book......a white knuckle read ...holding onto the for dear life reading late into the Night because I cannot put it down. But then pacing myself because it's such a great read I DIDN'T want it to end!! I laughed, cringed, nearly gagged, cried, yelled and cussed!! This book is a MUST READ for all zombie, SHTF, apocalypse, military and action lovers. GO BEG BUY BORROW OR WHATEVER TO GET THIS BOOK....YOU WON'T BE SORRY! I'd give it a 99.95% out of 100% and they call Sean an indie author??? Shame...he should be scooped up along with a few other indie authors to have their books all over every store!
Another very good book, excellent additions to book 1, makes me want book 3 even more.
Quite a few new characters brought in, some others fully developed (facepalm), if you note the cover the blond on the right, “Ashley” is pretty well developed already but she actually becomes quite a bit more interesting character. Look the main character likes hot women with a “magnificent rack”, I can’t argue, same here. It’s a great cover and I’m sure it sold books. Shocker. Yup, there’s sex in this one too, its adult themed book, it’s not for kids.
This should have been quite evident from all the warnings.
Story covers another 6 days roughly, and you gotta wonder at times when the characters ever sleep! Rough rough times in this and as it moves forward it gets rougher.
Again, very good read, not quite as fast paced as book one for me, but again, quite good. More about how this all started, and what the reason is, and unfortunately the zombies appear to be getting smarter. So yeah that’s even scarier as well.
Good cliff hanger ending with interesting plot twists as it goes along too. Very fun in a zombie horrific, and sexy way. I’ll be getting more of Sean Lieblings books soon!

What happens when a person works hard and is dedicated to a project? The answer is easy, the project comes out as success and the person grows in skill while doing so. That is exactly what has happened in Sean Leibling's second book, Legacy of The Living.
LOTL is a great continuation of the story of Governor/Commander Jay Scarmon as he proceeds in trying to reestablish a working society in a world now full of undead, worthless human beings and a clandestine government group. Leibling stayed faithful to the mix that made his first book great. He continued to combine high octane action, high octane sex and of course love of God, Family and Country to give us another excellent read.
In book two you can see how he has grown as a writer in the way he is able to manipulate so many characters and groups. Leibling does it in such a way that the reader can follow them all and make a connection that makes each group seem real and not just thrown in for filler. The groups vary in social make-up so this book will appeal to many different people from lesbian bikers to people with handicaps he shows them all in a positive manner and treats them with respect.
The new characters he has created compliment the story without bogging it down. Johnny the handicapped leader of the Rehab Center, Samson the double amputee veteran in the wheel chair, Travis the Reaper's protégé, Alethea the lesbian biker leader, along with several more real people that make the story believable and fun.
Leibling has given us the classic `concluded cliffhanger' in book two. He concludes the main story line for this book and leaves us with a jumping off point for book 3. I look forward to book three in which he promises more action and to watch the characters from this world continue to struggle to survive.
Leibling had some hard core haters that reviewed his first book. They complained on anything from the explicit sex to racial bias on his part. I hope you will read both books and see that he has not a racial bone in his body. His characters are comprised from all races and everyone regardless of color or nationality contributes to the community as equals. As far as the sex goes, well let's just say Jay is still a hornball and leave it at that.
