This is my private journal, written during a difficult period of my life. The economy was poor, business was slow. The recession ravaged my private practice as a clinical psychologist. Thrown overboard into a sea of the unknown and the unstable, I fell into unrest and was plagued with thoughts of "going under," but in my heart, I believed my situation would turn around. In 2013, my office building finally sold. It was located in Flint, Michigan, the crime capital of the United States. It sold for the price of a fully loaded compact car. The financial loss only served to fuel the tidal wave of dis-empowering thoughts that tormented me. Giving up wasn't an option, while it frequently crossed my mind. Surely heaven understood my condition. So, I decided to say yes to life expecting God's favor to lift me above my personal challenges.

Or to give you pleasure due to the smooth writing and the calming words from the author.
I read fiction and non-fiction. I read 'self help' and books that mentor others. I believe in the healing powers of the word / mind. I believe in "good goes in and bad goes out". I am not surprised by this book from S. Jamil as she is gifted in many, many areas. Her words now in book form are easy to read and easy to understand.

I really had reservations about buying another spiritual read, as I have a number of them now. Actually Iam in the process of finishing one at the time I decided to get this one. I was so excited to get into Healing from Heaven I could*nt wait to open the first page. Well, that was it for me, I have not put it down since. Of course I have finished the project I was on working on. This one has very deep meanings and does speak to the reader in a way that is unique to the reader, according to what we are working on in our own journeys. It has a message for everyone. Im really happy with my purchase, I know that it is a very handy tool in our search for truth. Easy to read and to understand, I recommend to anyone for any issue you may be dealing with in life, this is very therapeutic and so helpful in everyday problems. Thank you DrSuzy
This book could easily be called “nuggets for sanity”. Especially if you are going Through some difficult seasons of life. The author has taken her education and blended it with faith to creat an encouraging book. Before you spend money on counseling - take a read. There may be a nugget just for you.
Wow.Healing from Heaven by Dr. Suzanne Jamail is the book I was planning on writing but even better!
Seriously, I was planning on writing a follow up devotional for my own eBook; Authentic Faith, Radical Transformation and Contemplative Prayer. At the end of my book I recommend taking an entire day, or even a week and focusing on a particular spiritual subject.
Dr. Jamail's book is a great personal, spiritual resource. Unlike other books in the genre, it is not about possibility thinking, yet it guides you through possibilities. This book is, to me, about the possibilities that are available through a life lived well, through the mentor ship and guidance of a loving God.
Unlike most books on Christian spirituality, Healing from Heaven is not a scholarly work, full of bible quotes and theological insights. No. This book is much more sublime, with short topical chapters (more like passages) that are (in my mind) best suited for devotional reflection.
As a Bishop and theologian myself, I found Suzanne's reflections insightful and relevant for Christians struggling through the messiness of modern life.
After sudden business losses due to Hurricane Sandy; illnesses in close family members in a short span of time; my own change in health due to not one, but two back to back car accidents caused by other drivers and sleep deprivation as my own family relied so heavily on me, I prayed continually at Adoration for help. There are times life coaching does not consider all aspects of my human person-- the spiritual, mental, physical, emotional and social. In fact, any guidance I received was to do more! If anyone felt under attack, it was me; but I knew God had solutions if I could just be still and listen with my mind and heart connected.
As I began to dive into Healing From Heaven, He strengthened me with His gifts of faith and hope that even in this mess, God was in it doing something new. Everyone would grow! My tearful prayers were answered as I had read a page here, another there at random. Then, I not only picked up a copy for me, but others. We had spoken with each other about our feelings of "feeling stuck" and everyone opened up Dr Suzanne's Healing From Heaven with anticipation and hope.
In my personal experience, I immediately felt peace as I pondered comforting words that not only renewed my mind, but rested my heart and soul. Then, with continued reading, I found myself reading between the lines in Healing From Heaven ---- not only are there virtues, but The Beatitudes. Growth! Spiritual direction and devotion! A book where God is not a method, but a Person! We forget that the Trinity is God in 3 Persons! Dr Suzanne is able to use her extensive professional knowledge and still allow the Holy Spirit to speak in this awesome book! Healing From Heaven is not only a gift from God through Dr Suzanne, it's an encounter!
Dr. Suzanne Jamil’s book Healing from Heaven, is a private journal that shares the simplest yet deeply profound messages from God at a time of struggle. When you turn to any page, you feel as though the words were written with you in mind. Dr. Jamil articulated God’s messages in a way that any reader of this book can relate.
This is a book of daily thought provoking insight. We all get lost now and again either physically or spiritually and as you leaf through the pages, a topic appears randomly to which you may be struggling. As you read the words, clarity and understanding come to life. It is as if you have that “Ah Ha” moment. For me, opening this book to a random page helps me focus on what is important. Each topic carefully placed throughout this book, the answers we are seeking appear.
Dr. Jamil reminds us that the simple things in life are the most extraordinary. They say what we need appears when we most need it and I’m so happy to have found this book and to have found a friend. Thank you Dr. Suzy for appearing when I needed your insight!!!!!
